Career
Sonali Phogat has started her career in entertainment industry as an anchor on Hisar Doordarshan in 2006. Two year later, she joined politics in the year 2008.
Since then, Sonali is an active member of the BJP. she had contested the Haryana Assembly elections from Adampur Assembly seat in Hisar district but lost the election, after this election she was in limelight. She is also an actress along with a politician. Sonali initiated her acting career from Zee TV serial Amma- ‘Ek Maa Jo Lakhon Ke liye Bani Amma’ (2016). She made an appearance in the movie called ‘Chhoriyan Chhoron Se Kam Nahi Hoti’ released on 17 May 2019. She has done few Haryanvi music videos like ‘Uchiya Udariyan’ feat. Deepesh Rahi and ‘Sautan‘ in 2020.

Her husband Sanjay Phogat found dead at the age of 42, in a mysterious circumstances in his farm house in Hisar on 11 December 2016. Sonali is a single mother taking care of her daughter Yashodhra Phogat.

There was a demand on social media that Sonali Phogat be removed from the BJP party but this did not happen. During a rally in a village in Hisar, Sonali had asked people to raise slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Together they also said that those who do not chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ are Pakistanis. However, Sonali apologized for her statement after the controversy later escalated.
